How can a boomerang be thrown from today into tomorrow returning from today into yesterday?
First correct response will win a DQ ice cream gift certificate redeemable after my next rocket launch, or any other time.

Let me see...
Does it mean you threw it right at midnight?
Sure would enjoy a DQ. :)
Well, this is a logical answer, and if you throw the boomerang just before midnight it would go from today into tomorrow, but the return would just be from today into today.
Good try!

Okay, Zechariah, I think I might have it now. When you throw it you are standing on the international date line!
When's the next rocket launch?
We have a winner!
Congratulations, Mrs. O'Hara!
Your DQ prize will be arriving shortly!
Once my Dad gets better we can have a launch.
For extra credit, which side of the IDL should you stand on when you throw your boomerang?
I believe you would need to throw your boomerang from east to west across the IDL to satisfy your riddle.
Thanks very much for the prize, Zechariah. I can probably round up a few people around here who will be delighted to help me use it!
P.S. This is a good riddle...did you come up with it yourself?
My Dad and I were talking about boomerangs, because my mouth was hurting. It was hurting in the place where my boomerang broke two of my teeth.
I said to my Dad, "Hey Pop, what if you threw a boomerang across the International Date Line? Then you would be throwing the boomerang from today into tomorrow!"
Then my Dad said, "Hey let's make a riddle out of this."
So we worked together on how to word the riddle, and Pop said, "Hey how about if you put this on your blog, and offer a fabulous prize for the person who figures out the riddle?"
I said, "Great idea!"
And I was inspired by the riddle, so I got a DQ gift card for myself, too!
Oh, and you are correct about the direction to throw the boomerang!
